Videos for Machinima

It's been hard lately to go out and film like I usto. Most of the people I usto skate as well as my self are now caught in the daily grind of work and responsibility that, well, hasn't left us with too much time. However I did get approached by Machinima, world's largest video entertainment network for gamers, to submit some actual real life skating as they are branching outside to where the inspiration for games comes from. Here are a couple of clips I have submitted. If you have been following scummish along and the people connected with it, it may seem old, but there are some new things in there that I haven't released yet, so take a look. Hopefully some time soon, I'll be able to deliver some new content for you. Enjoy!

Sacramento Trip 09' Lost Footage

So I was looking through my hard drive and found this footage of this Sacramento trip we took last year. Myself, Ray Maldonado, Josh Campos, Fern Campos, and Taylor Fitz-Gibbon went out to Sacto and spent a few hours in San Francisco. I completely forgot about this footage probably because it was not a productive trip in terms of getting footage, due to the heat in Sacto or the wind in SF, and just luck, not to mention camera glitches and tape failures. But on the last day Josh did get one good hammer which made it worth the trip (attempt is close to the end of the montage, you can see the land in Josh's new part in ZJ Boarding House's new video "ZVD" available at zjboardinghouse.com).

So I was looking through my hard drive and have realized I had all these old bails that I have had in the past few years that I have not done anything with. I decided to just toss them together quickly on a timeline and export it. There is no music it to it because I like all the different sounds and things said during the bails, I think thats part of what makes it funny aside from the actual bail

Hollenbeck Plaza 3/30/10

P-Rod Skate Plaza Montage 11/23/09

So I'm really trying to make the best of these days i get off from work and just skating and filming as much as i can in that day, since i don't have much time to do so. So we go to skateparks now and just skate and session and get a few clips to make these montages. We had fun, hopefully it gets you hyped to do the same. Enjoy.

Fun At Garvanza Park

So I finally got a day off work to just spend the whole day skating. I went with Josh, Andrew, Tyler, and Suraj to Garvanza Park and just had a super fun session. I got some of the session on tape with my disfuntional vx that films in black and white, I kind of dig it though, so until i get a new cam you'll be seeing some black and white footy.

Scummish Montage 11/3/09

The last of the clips that i filmed with my vx2000 before it finally gave out, also a few clips from the hv30 as well. I am currently camera less, but its only temporary, so sit tight and hopefully I'll be able to bring you some new material soon. For now enjoy some quality shredding.

So I don't have any cameras at the moment, my vx broke down and I sold my hv30 to pay off some bills. So now its saving time to see what the new camera will be, who knows. But I do have my phone that shoots crappy video but i like it haha. Josh Campos ripping on my camera phone.

Josh Campos: Random Sand Gaps Clip

So I was looking through my hard drive, and posted in some random folder I found these clips of Josh Campos I filmed during the summer. It's filmed in sepia tone cause it was when my camera was broken and filmed in that gnarly yellow tint, but it could still film black and white and sepia tone. I picked sepia just to try it out, looks pretty cool, it's different. Enjoy.

Here we got a couple of alternate angles from the montage in september filmed by the canon hv30. I'm really digging the quality of the camera and from the price its super sick! If only it had a eyepiece for the viewfinder and a handle it would be prime time. Enjoy.

Montage 9/9/09

So after five years of faithful service, my vx2000 has finally given out on me. Here are some of the final clips I got with it from a couple months ago. Enjoy.

White Balance Chip Burned Out!

So I went out skating recently and we were filming at some spot and my camera was working just fine. About 10 minutes later we go to a new spot and I turn on my camera only to find it that it now records in a deep yellow tone, and no matter how much i mess with the white balance, the color presets, etc.. the white balance is permanently stuck to this yellow tone. But rather then just being over it and going home and playing zombies on call of duty, i filmed this little clip of randomness with Josh, Austin, and Taylor. I actually quite like it, i thought it was gonna be whatever, but it's grown on me. Enjoy.



Also I tried out my old school baby death lens on my canon hv30 to see how it would look, and it looked ugly. The vignetting on it is way off and there is too much of it, the baby death is definately not the lens for that camera. So if your thinking about the baby death for the hv30 i wouldnt recommend it at all. Here is the footy so you can take a look at it yourself.

Noah calls us up says he's got a three stair grinder to bank, and I was like oh sick! Little did i know it would be this 2 stair fake 3 stair curb to baby slope, here is Noah, Nolan, and Austin putting in a few tricks as well as Noah hitting one legit spot enjoy.

Austin Squire Is Killing It...

So I've known Austin for a bit, and dude has gotten good out of nowhere, seriously killing it. He definately handled today with 6 clips under his belt. Here are a couple of hand rail warm ups. Guess he might pull off a full part for the next video, we'll see.
